How did Wölffer wine become a lifestyle and Winebow’s best-selling rosé? With the direction of Joey Wölffer, Chief Brand Officer / Co-owner of Wölffer Estate Vineyard and creator of the iconic Summer in a Bottle.
“Seventy-thousand cases is just an extraordinary amount of wine for a small estate,” said a Senior Editor from Wine Enthusiast in a 2022 interview with the New York Times. Covering the rosé market, she described Wölffer rosés as "summertime staples, synonymous with the Hamptons luxury lifestyle for wine drinkers far beyond the borders of these elite hamlets.”
A New York Native, Joey had a mission to carry on the innovative legacy of her father when she and her brother Marc took over the Hamptons winery in early 2013. That same year, they introduced the Summer in a Bottle Rosé, which traditionally sells out each summer.
In addition to the vineyard, Joey and Marc also took over The Tasting Room, Wine Stand and Wölffer Estate Stables, which are all located on the 170-acre estate in the heart of the Hamptons.
A fashion entrepreneur, jewelry designer, restaurateur, equestrian show jumper, and mother, Joey has naturally drawn tens of thousands of followers. Prior to joining the family business, Joey founded the Style Liner Truck, a luxury accessories boutique on wheels, and in 2015 she opened her eponymous boutique in Sag Harbor, NY.
Joey’s magnetic social media presence and recent stories in Palm Beach Illustrated, DREW Magazine, and the New York Times have wine drinkers across the country reaching for Wölffer’s super premium rosés in aspiration of the “Summer in a Bottle” lifestyle. (And the eye-catching, Instagram-friendly labels don’t hurt.) As the New York Times puts it, Joey has “turned pink wine into a symbol of the Hamptons life that she epitomizes.”
