Wine Description

Catena Malbec Appellation La Consulta is composed of 100% Malbec blended from vineyards of La Consulta district in San Carlos.  The result is a wine with a pure expression of a unique terroir. 35-year-old vines gives red and black fresh fruits flavors, sweet texture and  character. Cold nights lend bright, crisp acidity and the intense sunshine gives explosive floral aromatics and concentrated structure.

Acclaim
“A Malbec from La Consulta, a historic terroir in the south of the Uco Valley, that spent 12 months in 35% new French oak. Expressive, local flavors of ripe plum and cherry with violet notes. Also typical of the terroir are the terse texture and gentle, voluminous palate, where the acidity is well-integrated, marshaling the creamy, lengthy flow and clear, fruity aftertaste. An excellent example of the La Consulta profile.”
— Vinous, Oct 2020
“Aromas of flowers and blueberries follow through to a full-bodied yet tight palate with fine, creamy tannins. Very refined and polished.”
— James Suckling, Mar 2021
