Arbikie Highland Estate

Brand Description

Arbikie Distillery is the first single-site, field to bottle distillery in Scotland to produce both white and brown spirits using traditional Scotch distilling methods and equipment.

Led by brothers John, Iain and David, the visionaries and driving force behind the distillery, Arbikie grows, distills, matures and bottles their family of spirits at the Arbikie Farm Distillery, giving exceptional provenance and traceability. All spirits are copper-pot distilled to ensure the same quality and standing enjoyed by Scotch whisky globally.

Their family of sustainable, field-to-bottle spirits include Nadar, the world's first climate-positive gin and vodka as well as the Highland Rye, Scotland's first Rye Scotch whisky in over 100 years.

our farm. our field.
our soil. our seed.
our water. our still.
our skill.

that’s OUR difference.

Location of Distillery

A perfect location. An ancient history.

Arbikie Estate is a family-owned working farm perched on the east coast of Angus, where crop is king. Here the team painstakingly plant, sow, tend and harvest the fields that make up Arbikie. They are true craftsmen of the soil.

This is an estate profoundly shaped by its environment: the red sandstone-tinted soil, the powerful sea and the turbulent weather give Arbikie a character found nowhere else. And here, situated where land meets sea, sits the distillery – created from an ancient barn, it is a place with all the ingredients required to produce authentic spirits of the highest quality.

The distillery is a stones throw from the fields. When crops arrive, the magic begins. Renovated from the remains of an old cattle barn overlooking Lunan Bay, Arbikie is the first single-estate distillery to distil all spirits in the same copper pot stills, with the vodka and gin spirit continuing their journey to their 40 plate distillation column. This distillation process means all spirits reflect the traditional Scotch whisky method.

Distilling Philosophy

Arbikie's distilling team is led by Master Distiller, Kirsty Black, who has been hailed as one of the top ten female master distillers in the world by Spirits Business Magazine, and Christian Perez.

Together with the Stirling brothers, they ensure that the history, tradition and provenance of Scottish distilling are built into the DNA of every spirit they create.

“Our aim is simple, to become the most progressive distillery in the world”.

Acclaim
“Scotland’s Arbikie distillery makes a range of quirky, environmentally friendly spirits, including this pea-based, climate-positive vodka. Green doesn’t just describe its sustainable credentials, but captures its savory aromas and flavors, which ultimately pose the question of whether this is a vodka or pea eau de vie. Semantics aside, this is a fun and intriguing spirit.” — acclaim for N/V Arbikie Nàdar Vodka from Vinepair, Dec 2023
