Wine Description

A blend of 90% Monica, 5% Carignano and 5% Bovale Sardo grown in the Perdera vineyard. The grapes are harvested in early October and fermented in glass-lined cement tanks. After fermentation, the wine is aged in French oak barrels for five to six months in order to achieve extra elegance and consistent structure.

Acclaim
The 2004 Perdera was fermented in old oak and aged in cement prior to bottling. Deep, rich, and chewy, with loads of peppery black cherry fruit intermixed with notions of Provencal herbs, roasted meats and earth. It is a modern version of a traditional French Cotes du Rhone.
— Wine Advocate, Aug 2005
The 2004 Perdera is made of 90 percent Monica and other local varities. It is ripe with a slight earthy nose of plums and currants, spice and big tannins on the finish.
— International Wine Review, Mar 2007
