Catena Zapata Adrianna Vineyard Fortuna Terrae

Wine Description

Fortuna Terrae means luck of the land in Latin, and indeed, the vines from this parcel of the Adrianna Vineyard are lucky. The loamy soils are home to many varieties of native grasses wich prevent erosion and attract benefic insects, singing birds and mountain foxes. Because of the freshness imparted by the deep soils and high altitude, the wines of Fortuna Terrae have optimal acidity and delicate flower aromas. It is best to enjoy this wines a few years or decades after harvest.

Acclaim
“Very complex aromas of blueberries and blackberries with hints of cheese and wet earth. Hot stones. Full body, dense and layered with lots of firm yet polished tannins and a gorgeous finish. Succulent. So delicious. You want to drink it!”
— James Suckling, Mar 2018
“This is a selection from a five-hectare block of the Adrianna Vineyard in Gualtallary, planted in 1995. The soil is deep sandy-loam with a layer of chalk below that the roots reach. This version of Fortuna is especially fruity, with delicious tension and prominent acidity that underscored those cherry and violet flavors. A delicious wine that’s easy to drink, but that’s still multi-layered.”
— Descorchados, Jun 2019
