Giuseppe Cortese Barbera d`Alba

Barbera d`Alba DOC bottle image

Wine Description

Made from 100% Barbera d'Alba grown in limestone and clay soils in various estate vineyards in the Trifolera zone, which is named after the prized white truffles that can be found nearby. The grapes are harvested in late September and then vinified and aged entirely in stainless steel tanks.

Acclaim
“Chocolate, dried berries and plums on the nose here. Full and flavorful. Love the lively decadence to this.”
— James Suckling, Jul 2013
“Moderately saturated bright red. Red cherry, licorice, herbs and pungent white pepper on the nose. Not as sweet as the Dolcetto but shares the crushed fruit character of that bottling, with red berry and spice flavors showing excellent cut. Finishes with slightly tart acidity, solid structure and excellent length.”
— Stephen Tanzer, Nov 2013
