LYMA
Brand Description
A tribute to freshness, Lyma refers to the sub-appellation of Lima in the Vinho Verde region of Portugal, as well as honoring the Lima river that runs west from Galicia though the entirety of Vinho Verde to the Atlantic Ocean.
Location of Vineyard
The Atlantic Ocean surrounds the Lima wine area from the west, creating several microclimates in the Lima Valley. The natural conditions of this region are ideal to produce excellent white wines. Many differentiating factors contribute to the splendor of this unique region: the influence of the Atlantic Ocean and the exposure to sea winds, granite soils, mild climate and high rainfall. The Lima River is surrounded by mountains on both sides (north and south banks), allowing for the appearance of morning mist during summer months, which contributes to preserving the freshness of the grapes.
Winemaking and Viticulture Philosophy
White wines from the Lima wine region are known for being crisp, linear and fragrant. Vinification in stainless steel tanks helps to preserve these attributes.
