Nautilus Cuvée Marlborough Brut

Nautilus Cuvée Marlborough Brut NV bottle image

Wine Description

The natural beauty of the Nautilus shell has inspired our expressive, balanced, precisely crafted wines since 1985, the early days of Marlborough winegrowing. Back then there were only 80 NZ wineries. Today there are nearly 700. Yet we remain small, family-owned, and committed to the stunningly beautiful Marlborough region.

Acclaim
“Elegant and perfumed with a savoury underlay, this is creamy and complex, with pure green-apple fruit and white-mushroom notes. The acidity adds an energetic tension that lasts into the long, fragrant finish.” – 16.5 points  — Jancis Robinson, Apr 2024
“Rich yet fresh, succulent yet firm, the NV Brut Cuvée Marlborough continues to be one of region's most impressive traditional method sparkling wines. High levels of nectarine-like fruit intensity combine with toast and grilled nut flavors derived from three years on lees. Its substance and character makes you wonder why more sparkling wines aren't this good.” — Vinous, Apr 2024

About the Vineyard

Marlborough is a sheltered, sunny, cool maritime climate known for intense, highly aromatic wines. Nautilus Cuvee is sourced from three sites on free-draining stony soils planted with older sparkling wine clones of pinot noir and chardonnay which are able to retain good levels of acidity. The blend of sites gives complexity to the cuvée.
