Tiefenbrunner Linticlarus Pinot Noir Riserva

Linticlarus Pinot Nero Riserva Alto Adige DOC bottle image

Wine Description

“Linticlarus” is the name of an ancient Roman Fortress from which the village of Entiklar (where the winery is located) gets its name. Made from 100% Pinot Nero fermented in stainless steel, the wine spends one year in French oak barriques followed by an additional year in bottle for further refinement. Christof Tiefenbrunner has succeeded in producing a stellar wine from this often finicky grape.

Acclaim
“Bold red fruit and spice flavors led one of our panelists to liken this to a Russian River Valley pinot. Notes of fennel and black tea add dimension to the rich fruit, with caramel flavors from the year it spent in French barriques. The flavors meld together in a vibrant, harmonious finish.”
— Wine & Spirits, Aug 2015
“One of the finer wines in the range this year, the 2012 Pinot Noir Riserva Linticlarus is forward, open-knit and quite inviting, with lovely aromatic complexity that has developed in aging. Crushed flowers, raspberries, mint and sweet spice all lift from the glass. Medium in body, but racy in style. The Riserva Linticlarus is a terrific example of Alto Adige Pinot Noir.”
— Vinous, May 2016
