Wine Description

Capogatto is the Tuscan name for the old method used to train and duplicate the vines in the vineyards, a process technically known as "layering." This wine is made from equal parts Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot, which were harvested in September.

Acclaim
“Bright and elegant, this fruit-forward red offers black cherry, black currant, Eastern spices and earth. Supple and charming, with refined balance and a lingering finish.”
— Wine Spectator, Oct 2022
“The 2019 Capogatto is plump and forward, with good fruit presence and plenty of raciness. Succulent red cherry, mocha, blood orange, sweet oak, spice and new leather are front and center. I would prefer to drink the 2019 sooner rather than later given its mid-weight structure this year.”
— Vinous, Jul 2022
