Monastero La Pineta

La Pineta Pinot Nero Toscana IGT bottle image

Wine Description

While Pinot Nero is capable of producing wines of extraordinary elegance and harmony, it usually has difficulty adapting to conditions in Italy. Here, the challenge was to produce an excellent wine in a land famous for other grape varieties. To succeed, Alessandro Cellai had to approach every operation in the vineyard and the cellar meticulously. The La Pineta beautifully embodies his efforts with finesse and grace.

Acclaim
“The 2010 La Pineta (Pinot Noir) is gorgeous in this vintage. This is a decidedly New World-inspired expression of Pinot, yet there is an unmistakable sense of Tuscan acidity that gives the wine its backbone. Dark red cherries, plums, sweet spices and licorice are all woven together in this supple, juicy Pinot Noir.”
