Acclaim
“A rich wine with seven months of wood aging and a ripe full-bodied texture, the wine has weight and concentration. The grape gives it some perfumed character that contrasts with the dense spicy richness. This rare and serious wine could age further before opening.”
— Wine Enthusiast, Oct 2018
“The 2016 Branco Quinta de Foz de Arouce is a Cerceal, aged for ten months in mostly second use French oak. It comes in at 12.5% alcohol. Big acidic bursts start this off, obscuring the wood. It is actually a little tart. There's a hint of flint in the background, but it's well obscured at this point, although that is something I'm always monitoring with this bottling. This looks like an unusually zesty Branco with some potential for aging. If it does not develop reductive nuances, it looks pretty fine this year. For the moment, it is worth leaning up.”
