Acclaim
“Shimmering red. Juicy red fruits and candied flowers on the nose, along with building spice and earth nuances. Smooth and fleshy in texture, offering appealingly sweet cherry and raspberry flavors and a hint of bitter chocolate. Supple tannins frame a long, smooth finish that echoes the red fruit and floral notes.”

“This wine acquired its name when German-born winemaker Timo Mayer declared, after traversing it many times over, that it was, “bloody steep!” Mayer is known for his use of whole bunch fermentation but this cuveé is entirely destemmed and more terroir-driven because of it. There’s a funk factor to the nose but it blows off to reveal a lovely purity of red fruit and floral notes. Texturally silky, with a bite of firm tannins and savory, spicy undertones, it’s both sturdy and ethereal.”
