Tramin Lagrein

Lagrein Alto Adige DOC bottle image

Wine Description

Made from 100% Lagrein from southern Alto Adige, this deeply colored wine is a classic example of this ancient variety.  After a short but intense maceration, the wine is aged in a combination of large oak casks and cement tanks to ensure softer tannins and greater finesse.

Acclaim
“Aromas of black cherry, violet and dark baking spice lead the nose on this thoroughly enjoyable, easy-to-drink wine. The savory palate offers up black raspberry, ground pepper and a hint of cocoa alongside mellow tannins. Drink soon.”
— Wine Enthusiast, Jul 2016
“The 2013 Lagrein is a solid wine at its level. Iron, red cherry, plum, spice, leather and tobacco are all knit together in a soft, supple Lagrein to drink over the next 2-3 years. There is nothing fancy here, instead the Lagrein delivers terrific quality for the money.”
— Vinous, May 2015
