Acclaim
The 2019 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva is a saturated but youthful deep red brick color and is ripe with notes of black licorice, walnut, dark cherry pit, and polished leather. Full-bodied, it has more famey richness on the palate, with ripe tannins and an earth-noted finish. I prefer the Brunellos over the Riserva here, as they offer more transparency and freshness. — Jeb Dunnuck, Jan 2025
The bright red ruby red 2019 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva takes time to open in the glass before revealing notes of wet stone, petrichor, ripe cherries, sappy earth, and fresh sage. Medium-bodied, it’s fantastically balanced, with a richness of texture that’s also never heavy. It offers ripe, well-defined tannins and a long, harmonious finish, with its darker mineral profile coming through. It’s going to need time as well. — Jeb Dunnuck, Jan 2025
