Castello di Neive Santo Stefano Barbaresco

Barbaresco Santo Stefano Albesani DOCG bottle image

Wine Description

The Barbaresco Santo Stefano is the result of an ethereal combination of the ideal terroir with the perfectly-suited Nebbiolo grape.  This wine shows all the characteristic elegance of Barbaresco with the complexity and richness for which Santo Stefano is known.  The Nebbiolo grapes for this wine are grown in the Albesani sub-appellation inside Barbaresco, in the single vineyard of Santo Stefano, which is owned entirely by Castello di Neive.

Acclaim
“This single-vineyard Barbaresco from the hallowed Santo Stefano hill shows is pedigree with alluring fragrances of violet, rose, iris and forest floor. The palate impresses with a core of ripe wild cherry and raspberry, along with notes of white pepper and cinnamon. Fresh acidity and bracing but elegant tannins mark it as still young and primary, with a perfect structure for aging.”
— Wine Enthusiast, Sep 2013
“Freshly cut flowers, rose petals, red berries, licorice, mint and spices flesh out in the 2010 Barbaresco Albesani Santo Stefano. With time in the glass, the 2010 blossoms beautifully. Intensely perfumed and layered, the 2010 boasts gorgeous inner sweetness and fabulous balance. Today the 2010 is firing on all cylinders. The pedigree of this great site comes through in spades.”
— Antonio Galloni, Oct 2013
