It’s certainly the greatest Gigondas I’ve ever tasted and possibly the greatest Gigondas ever made. Giving up a heavenly bouquet of garrigue, graphite, crushed rocks, licorice and assorted red and black fruits, this beauty hits the palate with full-bodied richness and a profound seamlessness that belies its richness and depth. It has sweet tannin and a wealth of fruit and will continue drinking beautifully for another two decades. Hats off to winemaker Louis Barruol for this incredible wine!”
