Wine Description

Since the debut in 1927, Antiguas Reservas has always been a limited selection of the very best Cabernet Sauvignon from the Cousiño-Macul estate vineyards. Over the years, Cousiño-Macul has maintained its classic style by combining New World ripeness with Old World elegance, finesse and a framework to age long and well.

Acclaim
True Maipo aromas of tobacco, eucalyptus, earth and herbal berry lead to a full and rugged palate with plenty of tannic grip and loads of black fruit, cassis and chocolate flavors. Long and more chocolaty on the finish.
— Michael Schachner, Dec 2011
The 2009 Antiguas Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon is a perennial Best Buy in these pages. Sourced from vineyards planted in 1932, it was aged in 1- to 4-year-old barriques for 14 months. Spicy red fruits, cedar, tobacco, and violets compose the bouquet of this surprisingly elegant offering. A solid wine as well as an excellent value. Drink it over the next 4-5 years.
