Cousiño-Macul Antiguas Reservas Cabernet Sauvignon

Antiguas Reservas Cabernet Sauvignon bottle image

Wine Description

Since the debut in 1927, Antiguas Reservas has always been a limited selection of the very best Cabernet Sauvignon from the Cousiño-Macul estate vineyards. Over the years, Cousiño-Macul has maintained its classic style by combining New World ripeness with Old World elegance, finesse and a framework to age long and well.

Acclaim
“Rubbery dark-fruit aromas are surrounded by hints of olive, minerals and spice. This feels round as well as fair and balanced; flavors of loamy blackberry are smooth and come with chocolate notes. Coffee, spice and herbal flavors work the finish.”
— Wine Enthusiast, Aug 2014
“The 2011 Antiguas Reservas Cabernet Sauvignon is the wine that made a name for Cousino Macul when it was fermented and aged in big Rauli wood vats that were abandoned around 20 years ago in favor of stainless steel and barriques, where the wine now ages for one year. This is now a medium-range wine, and their best grapes are used for the Lota brand. This is a classical Cabernet Sauvignon from Macul and Buin, with a clear Maipo character offering notes of tobacco, cedar wood, mint, chocolate, roasted coffee, blackberries and a touch of black pepper and paprika. The palate is medium-bodied, with fine-grained, dusty tannins and enough acidity.”
