Licia Albariño

Licia Albarino

Wine Description

Licia Albariño is 100% Albariño from DO Rias Baixas in Galicia, the region in northwest Spain known for its Celtic influence and overall greenness due to the maritime climate. The vineyards for Licia are found in Vilachán (Tomiño, O Rosal). While the area is surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean and the Miño River, it's hillside location allows the vines to be unaffected by fog or cold temperatures found on the peaks. Its southern orientation ensures good sun exposure, which contributes to the ideal ripening of grapes.

About the Vineyard

Trellis trained vineyards are located in O Rosal at an altitude between 200 and 350 meters. Soils are granitic, sandy and very permeable, producing very fine wines with balanced acidity. The region's mild temperatures during the summer allow for a slow and gentle ripening of the grapes and help to conserve fruity aromas. Sustainable viticulture practices have led to the vineyards to become a natural habitat for over 160 species of flora and fauna, enriching the vines from the roots with biological wealth.
