Wine Description

Labrusca is the ancient Roman name for the family of Lambrusco grape varieties, believed by many to be among the earliest grapes used to produce wine. Rosso means red.

Plum skin acidity enlivens this round, creamy Lambrusco, which boasts flavors of blackberry compote and roasted plum underscored by savory mountain herb and smoke accents. — Wine Spectator, Dec 2024

The NV Labrusca Rosso opens with a rich blend of exotic spices, crushed blackberries, lavender pastille and medicinal black cherry. More savory than sweet, it floods the palate with masses of tart red and blue fruits, intensified by a core of citrus-infused acidity. For the production of Lini's classic Martinotti-method Lambrusco (also known as Charmat-method Lambrusco), a still Lambrusco is produced and then racked to pressurized, temperature-controlled tanks where the second fermentation is provoked. The wines are then aged on their lees until the desired complexity and nuance are achieved.
