Tiefenbrunner Feldmarschall von Fenner

Feldmarschall von Fenner Müller-Thurgau Alto Adige DOC bottle image

Wine Description

The Müller-Thurgau "Feldmarschall von Fenner", which ripens at over 3,300 feet above sea-level, is unique in the whole of Europe. The grapes are grown on the high plateau of Fennberg, which is protected from the north wind and has a unique microclimate. The wine is named after Franz Philipp Freiherr von Fenner zu Fennberg, founder of the Austrian Kaiserjäger (soldiers of the Austrian emperor), who once used this Hofstatt as a summer residence.

Acclaim
"Top-Scoring Wines from Piedmont" - Offers amazing nose of rhubarb pie, peach skin and lavender. Full-bodied, with intense flavors and bright acidity. This is made from one of the highest vineyards in Italy.
— Wine Spectator, Dec 2009
The 2008 Muller Thurgau Feldmarschall opens with a gorgeous, almost tropical nose that leads to mango, apricots, lime peel and flowers. An intensely perfumed expression of apricots, passion fruit, jasmine and lime peel follows, with a long, clean finish that rounds out the wine. This is an especially ripe, generous vintage for the Feldmarschall.
