Acclaim
Altesino's base Brunello presents a tonic, runy color with pristine aromas of wild berry, blue flower, earth and ground clove. You'll like the brightness and determination this wine shows in the mouth as it spreads clean over your palate.
— Wine Enthusiast, Oct 2010
The 2005 Brunello di Montalcino, from vineyards in both the northern and southern parts of Montalcino (roughly 65% and 35% respectively), is a fresh, fruity offering with plenty of refinement in its berries, flowers and spices, showing no hard edges and outstanding overall balance. High toned, floral notes give the wine a nice sense of lift on the finish. This pretty, delicate Brunello is best enjoyed young, while the attractive, up-front fruit remains vibrant.
